I've always thought plants were beautiful. The various colours, shapes, and textures fascinate me. Growing up on a farm in Madeira between the ages of seven and sixteen provided the ideal environment for nurturing this passion. 

At such a young age, I created wonderful gardens filled with rare and common flowers that everyone enjoyed. For those who are unfamiliar, Madeira has a subtropical climate, making it simple to create the ideal garden. So, when I arrived in Ottawa, I encountered some difficulties due to the harsh weather, but as the saying goes, you learn from your mistakes, and I did. I dedicated my time to learning as much as possible about all of the plants in my garden, as well as other plants. My knowledge of plants grew, and I was successful in creating the gardens I adore.

During this time, I realized that I enjoy teaching gardening skills to others and, more significantly, teaching young children the value of gardening.  All of that being said, I decided to write a book for novice gardeners that will teach them everything they need to know to grow their first garden. My book is almost ready, and I can't wait to share it.
